Consolidated Plan/Consolidated Plan Report

The City of Gary participates in several Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs: Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnership Grant, and Emergency Shelter Grant. To participate in the stated programs the City must submit the Consolidated Plan and subsequent reporting requirements to HUD pursuant to 24 CFR Parts 91 and 92. The Department of Community Development serves as the lead agency in the planning process, development and implementation of the Plan. Together with an extensive collaborative among various City departments and not for profit partners, we seek to identify community needs and establish realistic goals and objectives for meeting those needs.

Funding provided under each grant program is used to fund an array of activities that serve to implement identified strategies in the community and economic development process.
