The mission of the Gary Human Relations Commission is to promote equal opportunity with regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry or handicap in employment, education, housing and public accommodations. The Commission is also charged with the responsibility to protect employers, real estate brokers, property owners and others from unfounded charges of discrimination.
