YOUTH SERVICES BUREAU
Children are YSB's specialty. Involve your child(ren) in after-school and summer recreation/lunch programs. Arts and crafts, tutoring, organized sports (AAU track, biddy basketball), and field trips are just the tip of the iceberg. Please call YSB at 219/881-5270 for more information.

The Gary Youth Services Bureau (YSB) is an out of court delinquency prevention and youth advocacy agency. Our goal is to offer programs and activities that provide positive alternatives to negative behavior for all Gary youth 18 years old and younger. YSB programs focus on keeping Gary youth physically fit, mentally active, healthy, busy and informed.

YSB Sites: Programs available in designated park pavilions and school sites. After school and recreation programs are held at Glen Ryan, Ironwood and Borman parks and Riley Elementary and Bailly Middle schools.

YSB Hours: Fall and Spring programs operate 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Riley school operates 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Special holiday hours for park pavilions during Christmas and Spring Break. Summer hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

YSB Fees: All after school and recreations programs are offered FREE to Gary youth. A nominal fee may be charged for special events and field trips. Youth sports program require registration fees.

YSB collaborates with city, county, state and national agencies to coordinate and provide more activities for more youth. Partnerships exist with the Parks Department, Gary School Corporation, Gary Housing Authority, Gary YWCA, Lake County and Gary Public Library, Gary Literacy Coalition, Friends of Emerson, Gary Art Works, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, City of Gary Health & Human Services, City of Gary Police and Fire Departments, Allstate Insurance, Lake County Solid Waste and the many others. YSB is funded by the City of Gary, Community Development Block Grant-H.U.D., Indiana Dept. of Family and Social Services, Indiana Dept. of Education-Food & Nutrition Services and the Indiana Youth Services Association.
