Construction Management Advisor Services: Marquette Park Lakefront East

Construction Management Services, where the Construction Manager is not a contractor, are being sought for the Marquette Park Lakefront East project. Qualified firms are invited to submit sealed proposals, subject to the conditions and instructions as specified, for Construction Management Services. The City of Gary is currently planning the renovation and restoration of Marquette Park in Gary, Indiana.

Located along the South Shore of Lake Michigan, the 241-acre Marquette Park is one of Northwest Indiana's most admired and historic regional parks. The Lakefront East Master Plan identifies improvements that will enhance access to and circulation within the park, preserve and strengthen the park's natural features, provide new recreational and educational amenities, and restore the park's signature historic facilities. Collectively, when construction is completed in December 2011, the rehabilitation and new improvements will help to re-establish Marquette Park as one of Northwest Indiana's premier lakefront destinations, enhance quality of life for citizens of Gary and residents of Northwest Indiana.

As a result of the master planning efforts, the project team has a comprehensive plan identifying a magnitude of improvement projects. The City and the project team have identified the following list of eleven potential improvement projects: Recreation Pavilion, Aquatorium, Children's Playground, Father Marquette Monument, Lake Street Beach, Armory, Lagoon, Beach Parking/Special Event Area, Infrastructure, Natural Areas, and Shoreline & Beach. Reference the master plan prepared by the Hitchcock Design Group team available at www.hitchcockdesigngroup.com/marquette.html

This request for proposal will detail three separate projects and one combination project; however, the City reserves the right to assign a project or combination of projects to separate Construction Managers. The Construction Manager will not be allowed to self perform trade activities.

The Board of Public Works & Safety must receive all proposals on or before June 23, 2010 at 10:00 AM (CST). Please submit one (1) original and nine (9) copies of the proposal to:
