SPONSOR "ONCE BLOCK AT A TIME" CLEAN UP
Gary, Indiana - The Gary Youth Services Bureau and the Gary Housing Authority have joined forces to sponsor a Gary youth city-wide “One Block at a Time” clean up. Targeted dates for clean up are April 14-15, 2009, from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

HUD CELEBRATES FAIR HOUSING MONTH
Gary, Indiana - In recognition of Fair Housing Month, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today announced its annual celebration of "Fair Housing Education Week" on April 20-24, 2009. Intended for 5th through 8th grade students, this national education project will give teachers, parents and their children a basic understanding of the Fair Housing Act.

MUNICIPAL OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED ON GOOD FRIDAY
Gary, Indiana - All City of Gary municipal offices will be closed on Friday, April 10, 2009, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. Garbage pickup services will be provided.
Regular working hours will resume on Monday, April 13.
