The event is a national movement sponsored by the American Heart Association in collaboration with local health and wellness advocates.in local observance of "Go Red for Women" for the AHA, Mayor Rudy Clay will host a Press Conference in the Gary Room of City Hall at 11:00 a.m. The Press conference will include special presentations from heart victors and local leaders. Mayor Clay will issue a proclamation.

KRUCIAL KREATIONZ is a group of talented young dancers from Gary ages 10-21 that competed and won the Black Entertainment (BET) 106 & Park's Wild-Out Wednesdays on December 3, 2008 in New York. Mayor Clay will congratulate and present the team with certificates during their visit to City Hall on Friday the 6th.

CELEBRATION Gary, Indiana - The City's continuing Black History Celebration will feature a well-known radio personality at City Hall this week. Mayor Rudy Clay Will host a Roundtable Discussion with the radio music legend Herb "The Cool Gent" Kent on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. The Mayor will welcome Kent at 1:30 p.m. in the Gary Room of City Hall. Kent will discuss his lifetime in the industry and will discuss the release of his new book entitled, The Cool Gent. The public is invited. February 27, 2009 EMPOWERMENT ZONE MICROSOFT PUBLISHER TRAINING Gary, Indiana - Microsoft Publisher Training Intro Session will be held at the Gary, East Chicago, Hammond Empowerment Zone Center in Gary (839 Broadway Gary, IN 46402) on Friday, February 27th from 1:00 pm - 3:30pm.
