Gary Counts houses the City of Gary’s data initiatives, like the Gary Parcel Survey, a city-wide survey of the community’s physical environment as a means to locate and remove blight for redevelopment purposes, allowing for curious residents and community members to analyze municipal data sets and develop applications focused on blight elimination efforts.

The Gary Parcel Survey is the result of a collaboration between the City of Gary, the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy, and non-profit Local Data. Results are interactive and available for download.
