Gary is the hub of Northwest Indiana...and only minutes from Downtown Chicago! Originally suburbs of Gary, Northwest Indiana cities such as Merrillville, Hammond, and East Chicago provide whatever you desire. Shopping, entertainment, and lodging are abundant in Gary's surrounding communities.

Lake County

Visitor's Center Gary is located at the northern end of Lake County. Filled with activity and events, Lake County is a perfect home for all the excitement and events that Gary has to offer. From the great outdoors to golf to outstanding shopping, Lake County has it all. Merrillville and Hobart are the retail shopping centers of Northwest Indiana. Located along I-65 and only 10 minutes from Gary, Southlake Mall and Hobart Crossing Shopping Center have every retail store, department store, and restaurants you need. Porter County is Gary's neighboring county. Miles of National Lakeshore beaches and a State Park teamed with quaint communities and shopping, Porter County is a relaxing place to spend an afternoon.

Michigan City

Like Gary, Michigan City is located on Lake Michigan with a beautiful lakefront. Outlet shopping, a zoo, and historical mansions are just a few ways to spend time in Michigan City.

Chicago

Famous for its food, shopping, and nightlife Chicago is just up the beach from Gary. Only a 35 minute drive, Chicago offers a night on the town that you will never forget.
